Are You Sure The Answer Isn’t Right Here?

How do I sign up/check availability?
Here on our website, of course!! Click on the “Reservations” tab. Please do not call or email us. We usually have our hands full with molten glass so we cannot always answer the phone or email promptly and your spot could get scooped up by someone else.

What is the cost?
All prices are listed on their respective pages. Taste of Glassblowing classes cost $55/person, private events are also $55/person but with a minimum of 8 people and private lessons cost $120/hr for one person and $140/hr for two people with a 2-hr minimum.  There is no bulk pricing for groups larger than 8.

What can I expect to make?
Please do a little bit more reading of our website. Each type of class/workshop/lesson/event has its own full page of info.

Do you offer gift cards or can I sign up for a class for someone else?
Yes! Check out our gift cards tab for eGiftcards or come by in person to purchase a physical card. Class registration is totally transferrable. Please just send an email to ghostpepperglass@gmail.com to let us know to expect a different name in your place or have the recipient ready to tell us the name that their reservation is under.

I have a gift card but cannot redeem it through the payment gateway?
We feel ya! This is something we have been working hard to remedy. For now, just email us with the following: (1) your name, (2) email address, (3) phone number, (4,5,6) preferred date/time/activity type you’d like to reserve, (7) number of participants and (8) the 16-digit redemption code. We will manually reserve the spot and charge the gift card. If the gift card doesn’t fully cover the cost, we will email you an invoice for the difference through square.

What is the minimum age to participate?
Our classes are designed for participants 18 and up.  We want you to be able to be as hands-on as possible, a stark contrast from many places we have worked in the past where your instructor makes the piece while you act in a supporting role.  As such, we feel the format is not safe for children.  Some instructors are willing to work with students younger than 18 but only with a participating parent or guardian.  You must be granted approval prior to booking or risk forfeiture of your payment if you arrive with a minor, without permission from the instructor.

Is your studio accessible?
Yes! Our entire studio (restroom included) and classes are accessible, however, please notify us ahead of time if you are participating in a hands-on workshop and have special needs. Since we do not use our specialized equipment daily, we may need a little notice to set up.

What do I need to wear/bring?
You must wear closed-toe shoes and natural-fiber clothing such as cotton, linen or denim.  Shorts and short-sleeved shirts are fine in the colder months, you may prefer long sleeves and pants.  All other materials will be provided.

Will the studio be hot because of the furnaces even though it is cold outside?
Sort of. The walls of our studio are garage doors that we can open and close to moderate temperature. In the colder months, we keep the room a little cooler to offset the radiant heat of the furnaces so you may feel warm while making your piece but cold while observing others. We recommend dressing in layers for the most comfort during Winter.

I’ve been to another glassblowing studio and I just got to pick my colors and watch the instructor make my piece. WTF?
We feel ya! We’ve all worked at places like this and feel like it is such a shame. If you want a great final product, buy it off our shelves. But if you want a great experience, learning how to play with molten glass goo, sign up for a class with us. We want you to be as hands-on as possible while staying safe. We will intervene only where necessary but you will apply color, melt the glass, shape and sculpt or blow up your piece. We want you to go home taking ownership of you object even if it has a little “character” that makes it stand apart from the rest!

I will not be available to pick up my belongings after they cool. Do you ship?
Yes, we are able to ship glass.  However, we do not mail things out every day and we will package your belongings extra carefully to ensure that they arrive safe.  We will forward the shipping cost to you plus $10 for our packing materials and time spent.  If you prefer a certain shipping service between FedEx, UPS and USPS we will also do our best to honor that.

Do you do Team Building Events?
Yes! Check out our Team Building page for more information. We have an 8 person minimum but if you have a smaller group, you can always pay for 8 and fill the extra time with a Narrated Demonstration by our experienced team!

Can my group bring in food or beverages?
Yes. However, please keep in mind that eating WHILE blowing glass does not work well and being mindful of your own limits with alcohol will make for the best experience but eating and drinking while others in the group participate is fully encouraged. For larger groups, we can set up some tables in our flex space for you to lay your F&B spread. If you choose to make use of our refrigerator, please be respectful of our food and beverages stored in that fridge. It makes our instructors angry when their end-of-shift beers have been consumed by students!

Is there a fee for bringing in food/beverages?
There is no fee! However, if you would like to bring in catering or have space to sit down to eat, please let us know ahead of time so that we can convert our flex space from a gallery to a break room format ahead of time. Also, please note that we will need to start your class ON TIME to keep to our schedule. Insisting on eating first is not acceptable if it delays the start time and could earn your group a late fee! Show up early to eat if you must.

Do you offer catering for my event?
No we do not. We can recommend some spots for you and be available for a caterer to drop off food and beverages prior to your event. Please just remember to leave our space as clean as you found it. We are glassmakers, not maids.

What if I want to do this more than just once?  Are there classes to learn how to blow glass independent of an instructor?
Yes! We all started somewhere. We offer multi-week courses where we work on skill-building and aim towards teaching you to be independent in the studio. These classes are offered by demand but require 4 students to run a class. So join our closed facebook group “Ghost Pepper Glass Students and Renters” which is a forum we created to connect all you interested students. Once we have four students who can agree on a 4 hour time slot for 4 weeks (consecutive or otherwise) we will run a class. At the end of four weeks, it is best if all 4 students are able to continue together but we will do our best to juggle people around if their schedules change.

Can I come in to just watch?
Yes, you can. We always welcome the public to come in during our open hours to watch us work on our own stuff or teach others. However, we encourage you to call ahead of time if you’re making a dedicated trip over here since we are sometimes being boring by cleaning the shop, refilling the furnace or answering emails. Our Facebook page and Instagram are good resources for checking if we plan to be making something extra exciting or if we are unexpectedly closed.

Your dogs are adorable but I am afraid of big dogs.
Our dogs are spoiled AF, so an hour or two confined to the office or backyard won’t kill them. Feel free to let us know ahead of time or just knock on the window to alert our staff. Ghost and Dotti wouldn’t hurt a fly (in fact, they get bossed around by Lauren’s 8lb cat) but we don’t expect you to overcome your fears at the drop of a hat. Whatever we can do to make you more comfortable, just let us know.

In order to reduce the administrative costs that go into our offerings, we have taken extra care to put a wealth of information on this website.  Please take a moment to look around first.
