Using a high-temperature torch, glass rods and tubing are melted, stretched and inflated to create smaller scale and more detail-oriented pieces than we typically make in our Glassblowing classes. Students have 30-60 minutes to create each small piece and can work simultaneously with one instructor floating around the room to offer guidance. This classroom can accommodate up to 8 students.
Bead Basics ($80/person) is a 1hr Introductory workshop to making soft glass beads. This quick beginner-friendly class will introduce you to the basics of glass bead making—no prior experience needed. Using a torch, you’ll learn how to melt and shape glass onto a mandrel (steel rod) to make beads, and explore surface decoration techniques to add pattern and texture.
Bead Making Fundamentals ($250/person) is a 3hr Introductory workshop that dives deeper into soft glass beadmaking! While it is geared towards beginners, more practice time and more complex demonstrations throughout the 3 hour class format allows for students to try a wider variety of techniques and learn about how to set up a home studio or return for more practice time.
Taste of Flameworking ($80/person) is an introductory borosilicate glass class focusing on a rotating project selection of Pendant, Marble, Fidget Blob and Straw.
Hot Cafecito! ($100/person) is a workshop in which each participant will craft their own small espresso style cup from borosilicate glass (aka Pyrex, heat resistant glass). No experience necessary, though be aware that this process is a bit more intensive and challenging than our Taste of Flameworking offering.
Pipe Workshop ($100/person) does not require prior experience but, be aware, it is a bit more intensive and challenging than our Taste of Flameworking offering. Choose from a variety of colored glass options and experience the wonder, difficulty and satisfaction of shaping in the torch flame a one of a kind vessel for your favorite, legally defined, herb or leaf!
