For some, the short, hands-on experience of our “Taste Of Glassblowing” workshops are enough. For others, it is just the tip of the iceberg in their learning experience. For those wishing to really learn how to work with the material on their own and explore a great deal more of what glass has to offer, our multi-week courses might be for you.
Courses consist of four 4-hour lessons (usually) held at the same time and day each week and for 4 weeks. Each lesson will consist of both instruction and practice time with demonstrations and assignments progressing through the weeks. Beginner courses will take a step back to basics in order to teach you complete independence but by the end, you will be making objects much more advanced than in our “Taste Of Glassblowing” or “Private Workshops“. The courses will not only teach you skills and techniques in glassblowing and have you going home with many souvenirs but will also serve to introduce you to other glassblowers at your skill-level with whom you can partner up to make work outside of class. After all, glassblowing almost always requires another set of hands or even a team.
4-week courses cost $600/person and include use of equipment, tools and materials. Classes will be offered at the beginner level and more advanced levels will open up as enough students progress to merit it. We do not run these classes until we have four interested students who can coordinate their schedules for four sessions. So please get in touch, if you are interested, and we will connect you with other interested individuals to start to coordination process. Alternatively, check out our “Private Lesson” page to explore options for working at your own pace and on your own schedule.
